On Monday, September 20, 2010 my nephew Kevin had his first day of Kindergarten. I had to work so I couldn't go to drop him off but I went with Erin to pick him up so that I could see his school. It is such a nice place and he really seems to be happy there. I can't believe how fast he is growing! I am definitely a proud aunt :)

Making our house a home
Last night Jimmy and I went to Bed, Bath and Beyond to obtain some gifts for ourselves with thanks to those who gave us gift cards. Afterwards we went to Red Lobster for dinner where we shared a few different appetizers which were delish! I even had a margarita in celebration of our first night together since the honeymoon (I love margaritas!). It was so nice to be able to have it just me and him without the dog and without cleaning or painting the house.
The comforter set we got. We painted our walls blue so this will look really good against it. From seeing my bathroom decor can you tell I'm a sucker for blue and brown?
No Dexter is not this big yet. This is the bed that we got for him. It is at the end of our bed so he can either lay on it or be able to actully get on to our bed since he his so small. He really likes it!

Date Night
People say when children enter your life that it will change forever. The same applies with having a puppy. Ever since the wedding Jimmy and I have been working on our new house and taking care of the newest member of the family leaving very little time for us. Considering that we just got married we would like time together to enjoy it. Tonight we decided it would be date night. We are going to go to Bed Bath and Beyond to get window treatments (as we desperately need them so we can take the towels down) and we recieved a gift card to Olive Garden so we will take advantage of a good free meal (thanks Chris!). I know things will eventually slow down but we both know we have to make time for eachother. I am really looking forward to a great night with my husband!

The mommy train isn't stopping here any time soon!
Today I feel I had my first taste of reality when it comes to being a parent. I offered to watch my sister's kids when I got out of work. No problem. When we got to the house Jimmy was sleeping so I had to take care of the dog. He decided to go to the bathroom in the house while I was trying to make dinner for the kids. Doesn't seem like a big deal but making dinner, entertaining a dog and two kids at the same time can be tough. Kudos to the mother's out there doing this juggling on a daily basis. I think I'll wait to have kids for a couple of years :)
The newest addition to the family
Our new puppy Dexter is a purebred German Shepherd born on July 3, 2010. Jimmy and I brought him home on September 2, 2010 and we love him so much. We found a breeder when we were filing for our marriage license back in July. The man who took care of the paperwork had a picture of a german shepherd on the window so I figured I'd ask if he knew of a breeder since Jimmy and I had been looking for months. Just so happened he knew a lady very well who has been breeding for over 25 years. Dexter's father, a black and tan like him is a championship show dog flown from England to the states for breeding and his mother a sable is also a championship dog, a member of the breeders family. We were so happy to find him. He is so loving and quick to learn!

The kids came over to meet him

Home is Where the Heart Is
Hershey is for Lovers

We checked out the Indian Echo Caverns full of mites and tites. It was my first time at a cavern since I was a kid. Very interesting.

The first night we stayed at the Inn at Westwynd Farm. It was only a few miles from Hershey Park. We stayed in the Serendipity Room which was cute. At the farm there were goats, horses, alpacas and various barn cats and dogs. The place was beautiful. There were always fresh baked cookies and cobblers at the kitchen table if anyone was hungry.

Breakfast at the Inn

At the Hotel Hershey behind the hotel in their beautiful gardens.

Just this year, Hershey's Chocolate World added a "Make Your Own Candy Bar' station. You were able to pick out 3 fillings and watch your candy bar actually being made. You also could design your own label.

Jimmy and I couldn't pass up getting our picture on a Hershey's Chocolate Syrup bottle.

On the Hershey tour. It taught you about how chocolate is made while you rode on a ride that took you through mock factories and fake cows.

We checked out the Civil War Museum in Harrisburg. They had all kinds of interactive tools such as this listening station and wax figures that told the story of life back in that time. It was pretty neat but I got bored fast :P

Our last night we went to the Hollywood Casino. It opened only a few years ago and is awesome. When sitting in their sports bar Jimmy asked me if it felt like we woke up 5 years from now because the place was so intense. Jimmy put $5 in a penny slot machine and won $128 so we walked away.
The final days before I Do!
Everything leading up to the wedding was such a blast with my bridal shower and bachelorette party. I was so happy when a friend from college was able to attend the shower since she couldn't make it to the wedding. Thank you so much to my bridesmaids, my sisters and my best friend :)

Me with my bridesmaids at my bridal Shower
My Bridal Shower was blue and brown polka dot themed, the theme I almost chose for the reception. Everything was great, it was outside in Nicolina's back yard with tables and white chairs. We opened gifts inside and I got a lot of great things that we really needed!

Me and my bridal party at my bachelorette party.
For my bachlorette party we started at Friday's where we had dinner then headed over to my old stomping grounds Jonathan's for some karoake. There I proceded to have far too much to drink but somehow ended up downtown meeting Brooke Hogan and her mother. It was such a great time!

At the Rehearsal Dinner at Donoli's with some great friends :)
Our Rehearsal Dinner was at Donoli's. We had a cocktail reception with close friends and family.

Jimmy and I at the rehearsal
Our rehearsal at the Treadway was quick but we did have time for a quick picture by the river.
I originally was going to do my own makeup for the wedding but decided it would be one less thing for me to have to do that day. Val did such a great job and I got it done at the salon making it nice not have to travel somewhere else that day.

Becoming Mrs. Wahl
Jimmy and I were married at the Owego Treadway Inn outside at their gazebo on August 21, 2010. Our reception was in their Starfire Room. It was everything we ever dreamed of!

Michala and Kevin walked down the isle so well together as our flower girl and ring bearer.
Though I couldn't see it, Michala threw the basket in to the air instead of throwing the petals but the kids walked up together a lot better than I thought they would!

Jimmy waiting for me at the alter :)
Jimmy claims he wasn't nervous but he had a slight twitch on the left side of his face, maybe from smiling so much <3

Walking down the isle to my man
I was so proud of myself. I am a bit of a cryer so I didn't know how much I would cry but only ended up losing it on my way down the isle but found myself saying out loud "why am I crying?" I held it together for the rest of the day. Go me!

Jimmy and his Best Man, his brother Bryan
Bryan gave a great speech at the reception but was interrupted by a text from a guest which read, "I crashed your wedding speech!" It was too funny.

My Matron of Honor and I, my sister Erin
Erin was so great at making sure everything was ready for my big day. I couldn't have asked for anyone better!

Being introduced for the first time as Mr. & Mrs. Wahl
We were all introduced to Forever by Chris Brown, one of my favorite songs. Jimmy was such a good sport at dancing in with me which I wasn't sure he would do since he's only in to slow dancing.

Our Wedding Cake
My friends Mom did our wedding cake and I absolutely loved it. She even had a little jar of candy corn next to it on the table. For years she has given me candy corn around the fall season since it's one of my favorite things.
Our wedding cake layers were Neapolitan-German chocolate cake with strawberry mousse filling, peanut butter and jelly-peanut butter cake with raspberry filling, mint chocolate chip-mint chocolate cake with creme de menthe filling, and smores-chocolate cake with a fluff and gram cracker filling.
